With the NBA Draft nine days away, we are starting to hear whispers about players that could be on the move during draft week. One of those players is Philadelphia 76ers guard/forward Danny Green.
Green is recovering from a torn ACL that he suffered in the NBA playoffs. Making his return to court time for the 2023 season uncertain. Along with Green, the Philadelphia 76ers are looking to move their 23rd overall pick in the draft.
According to Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer, the Philadelphia 76ers are currently exploring trade scenarios using Danny Green’s contract and the No. 23 overall pick.
“The Sixers are exploring trades involving this pick and Danny Green, according to sources. While Green was an important two-way wing for the Sixers, he tore both the ACL and LCL in his left knee in May and now he has an expiring $10 million contract.”
It is obvious that the Sixers are in win-now mode. So selecting a player at 23 will more than likely not help them this upcoming season.

But, what could a package of the pick and Green land Philadelphia? Some names that may interest them are Bogdan Bogdanovic of the Atlanta Hawks, former Sixer Jerami Grant or Miles Bridges of the Charlotte Hornets.
While these players may require more than just Green and a pick, their teams could be interested in moving off these veterans in hope of acquiring more draft capital. The 76ers need a younger more athletic 3-and-D player, and those names all fit the bill.

Matisse Thybulle is another name that has been brought up as a possible trade candidate in Philadelphia. He could be included in the package in the Sixers were hoping to bring back a bigger star.
One thing we know is that Daryl Morey will not sit around as the rest of the league negotiates possible trades over the next two weeks. Look for the Philadelphia 76ers to be heavily involved in trying to find a win-now player to pair with Embiid and Harden.
