Los Angeles Lakers Receive: C Myles Turner, G Buddy Hield, G T.J. McConnell
Indiana Pacers Receive: G Russell Westbrook, 2026 First-round Pick, 2028 First-Round Pick
In this scenario, the Indiana Pacers decide they’re willing to go all-in on their rebuild. This is something that the franchise has been hesitant to do, but if they can convince the Lakers to part with two first-round picks, it could be worth it from their perspective.
The Pacers don’t have a real need for Russell Westbrook, but landing two future first-round picks is great value for them. Given the current state of the Lakers, those picks in 2026 and 2028 could be extremely valuable as LeBron James likely won’t be in the mix any longer and Anthony Davis will be 33 years old.
As for the Lakers, they revamp their entire rotation with this deal. They have said they will not attach draft capital to move on from Westbrook, but if they are bringing back this level of talent, they should seriously consider it.
Los Angeles addresses two of its biggest needs with this trade; defense and 3-point shooting. Turner is a good stretch five but is an even better rim protector. Buddy Hield is one of the best high-volume 3-point shooters in the NBA. He would benefit greatly from playing alongside James and Davis.

An underrated part of this deal is T.J. McConnell. He is included to help match salary but has cemented himself as one of the better backup point guards in the NBA. His 3-point shooting, or lack thereof, could make for an awkward fit at times, but he is an excellent defender and playmaker.
