Down 2-1 in the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics, the Golden State Warriors need a bounce back in Game 4. Their chances of tying the series back up at two games apiece were looking bleaker as former MVP, Stephen Curry, was injured in Game 3.

In the fourth quarter, there was a loose ball and Curry dove to the ground. Multiple players were attempting to secure the ball and Al Horford ended up being on top of Curry. He looked to be in some pain after the play, but he isn’t going to let that keep him off the court.

“I’m going to play, that’s all I know right now,” Curry said.

“I’ll be all right,” Curry said after Game 3. “I got caught underneath Al [Horford]. Obviously there’ll be some pain, but I’ll be all right. Figure out how it feels tomorrow and get ready for Friday … [It was] the same thing I did against Boston during the regular season, but not as bad.”

The play that he is referencing occurred on March 14th when the Warriors hosted the Boston Celtics. Marcus Smart dove for a ball, which some considered to be a reckless play, landing on and injuring Curry’s foot in the process.

It would cause Curry to be sidelined for a month, as he didn’t play the remainder of the regular season. He missed the final 12 games but was able to come back in time for the postseason, as he has played in every playoff game thus far.

Having Curry in the lineup is key for the Warriors as he has been their most consistent player thus far. He has averaged six 3-pointers per game in the series, scoring 31.3 points to go along with five rebounds and 3.7 assists per game.
