There are, at most, only four games remaining in the 2021-22 NBA season. The Boston Celtics currently hold a 2-1 lead over the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals matchup that looks like it could very well go seven games.

In just about two weeks, we will know who the champion will be and shortly after that, the offseason will get underway. For both teams in the NBA Finals, big changes are unlikely; if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

But, over at Bleacher Report, they put together a piece naming one no-brainer trade target for each team in the league. For the Warriors, the selection was Pascal Siakam of the Toronto Raptors.

The likelihood of Golden State acquiring Siakam isn’t high, but this isn’t the first time that he has been mentioned as a good trade target for them. While he would certainly help upgrade the team, a move of this magnitude may not be necessary for the Warriors.

To acquire Siakam, the easiest way to make the money work would be to include Andrew Wiggins. If the Warriors do not believe that they will be able to fit an extension for him on the books, as he is eligible for one this offseason, trading him could become an option.

But, Toronto would assuredly want more than just him in return. Would Golden State be willing to aid the Toronto Raptors in their quest for a center by including James Wiseman? Doubtful, but that is one scenario that would work.

Golden State is already a very difficult team to handle, evident by the fact they are back in the NBA Finals after a two-year hiatus. Siakam would make them an even more dangerous team on both ends of the court.

Pascal Siakam would provide the team with a go-to scorer in the frontcourt, one of the few things that Golden State is actually lacking. The spacing between Kevon Looney, who is a free agent, and Draymond Green can sometimes get wonky but that wouldn’t be an issue with Siakam in the mix.

While there is a deal there to be made, it is unlikely that these two teams will come together to consummate it. Unless the Warriors change course and want to go all-in for the trio of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green, Golden State will likely want to hold onto their younger pieces to build the foundation of what they hope is their next dynasty.
