The Milwaukee Bucks’ defense of the Larry O’Brien Trophy didn’t go as well as they had hoped that it would. After defeating the Phoenix Suns in the 2021 NBA Finals, the Bucks were defeated by the Boston Celtics in seven games in their second-round series.
The Bucks are now entering the offseason, but there shouldn’t be too drastic of moves on the horizon. Had Khris Middleton not gotten injured in the first round against the Chicago Bulls, things could have gone differently for them.
With their core of Middleton, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Jrue Holiday returning for another season, the Bucks should once again be contenders. However, the supporting cast around their Big 3 could be tweaked.
Bobby Portis and Patrick Connaughton both have player options for the 2022-23 season that they can decline in hopes of landing a long-term deal in free agency this summer. They could also use some depth in the backcourt as George Hill struggled this season.
