Making the Case: Chicago Bulls
The Chicago Bulls need to improve defensively and the simplest way to raise the floor of a unit would be to add an elite rim protector like Rudy Gobert.
Keep in mind, that the Jazz didn’t really face issues where Gobert was unable to defend out in space. Instead, it was more of a matter of the value of his rim protection is diminished. The Bulls could play him regardless of the matchup.
What makes the Bulls a particularly intriguing potential landing spot for Gobert is the defensive talent he’d have around him. Patrick Williams would bring a lot of versatility at the four spot while Alex Caruso can disrupt at the point of attack.
While the offensive limitations of Gobert’s skill-set are fair to point out by all means, it’s worth pondering what he’d look like playing next to a wing playmaker like DeMar DeRozan instead of Donovan Mitchell.

Much of the Bulls’ outlook after trading for Gobert would depend on Zach LaVine. Having two high-powered perimeter scoring threats with an elite rim protector and versatile defenders sounds like the makings of a highly successful team.
