The Charlotte Hornets are entering the 2022 NBA offseason with some major needs. First and foremost, they need to find a new head coach. The Hornets were blown out by the Indiana Pacers in the 2021 NBA Play-In Tournament and met the same fate against the Atlanta Hawks this year. Despite winning 10 more games this season, that wasn’t enough to help him keep his job.
After finding a head coach, the front office will have to get to work on rounding out the roster. Center is a major need for the Hornets, who have been on the look for an upgrade in the middle for a while now.
This offseason, there should be some options for the Hornets to try and pursue on the trade market. Players who weren’t dealt ahead of the deadline, such as Myles Turner and Jakob Poeltl, could be on their radar. Anyone whose situation has changed since then, like Richaun Holmes with the Sacramento Kings, could also be on the Hornets’ list.
