De’Andre Hunter
De’Andre Hunter hasn’t exactly lived up to the hype with the Atlanta Hawks. After being selected with the No. 4 overall pick in 2019, Hunter’s failed to develop along his anticipated trajectory on offense and struggles to stay available due to injuries.
Nevertheless, when he is on the court, he’s still one of the better 3-and-D wings in the entire league.
The Hawks have an overflowing payroll, players who need new deals, and an underperforming roster. Something in Atlanta has to give. The Portland Trail Blazers may be able to offer them an out that would be equally beneficial for both teams.
Trading De’Andre Hunter to Rip City in return for the No. 7 overall pick is a great deal for both teams involved. The Trail Blazers land the 3-and-D wing with size that they’ve been looking to pair with Dame for years on end, one who can help Lillard make a return to the postseason in 2022-23 and form a promising foundation with Simons and Little.

The Atlanta Hawks get to flip De’Andre Hunter for a top-tier prospect on a rookie-scale deal which should help to balance their checkbooks and could also bring equilibrium to their roster.
