The Milwaukee Bucks couldn’t be said to have met expectations in the 2021-22 NBA season. When you’re defending an NBA championship, the bar is raised awfully high.
They fell short of it this season. A trip to the Eastern Conference Semifinals would be a success for many teams in the National Basketball Association. The Bucks are not one of them.
It could have gone differently. Khris Middleton was absent for much of the postseason. Like any team, the Bucks struggled without their second offensive option. Nonetheless, back-to-back title runs are not generally built on excuses.
If the Bucks want to get back to the Finals, they’ll have to tinker.
