Toronto Raptors Receive: C Richaun Holmes, F Maurice Harkless, No. 4 Overall Pick
Sacramento Kings Receive: G/F OG Anunoby, 2023 first-round pick from TOR
The Sacramento Kings are allegedly looking for ways to move off of their No. 4 overall pick in return for immediate help for their upcoming playoff push.
After trading Tyrese Haliburton for Domantas Sabonis, shipping out the No. 4 selection for a win-now piece would just be an equally shortsighted move for the Kings but is part of a larger pattern from Sacramento over the years.
Acquiring OG Anunoby would actually be an uncharacteristically prudent move for an organization that’s constantly getting in its own way. It wouldn’t be necessarily better than just keeping the pick and rebuilding, but that’d be asking a bit too much of Sacramento’s brass.
Nevertheless, adding Anunoby would provide a major boon to both the Sacramento Kings’ immediate success and the prospects of their young core.
Anunoby and Harrison Barnes could form one of the better defensive tandems in the league and might even be able to make up for all of Sabonis’ shortcomings on that end of the court. The Toronto Raptors add the fourth-overall pick with which they just experienced great success in the 2021 NBA Draft.

If one of Chet Holmgren, Jabari Smith Jr., or Paolo Banchero falls to four, the Raptors will have the chance to add a player that fits perfectly into their mold while also acquiring a starter-level center in Richaun Holmes. Mo Harkless gives them even more size, depth, and versatility off of the bench.
