Having recently been eliminated from the NBA Playoffs, the Miami Heat have likely already made their way back to the drawing board.
By most standards, it was a successful year for the organization. They made it to Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Still, this club has long held a championship-or-bust mentality. By that standard, this year was a bust.
So was Kyle Lowry’s playoff performance. All old, the 36-year-old averaged 7.8 points while shooting 29.1% from the field. It was ugly.
Granted, he was battling injuries. Unfortunately, at his age, that’s likely to be a recurring issue.

On the other hand, Lowry has a summer to rest his body. He may have another productive season or two left in him. If the Heat aren’t willing to find out and make him available, he’ll have suitors.
