It makes sense. For starters, Harden is an LA native. Furthermore, if a championship is his goal, both of the LA teams boast enough star power to help him accomplish that.
Those thinking about a Harden and Westbrook reunion will be disappointed (or, pleased). We’ve seen that movie too many times already, and it’s not that great.
We would assume that if Harden is donning the purple-and-gold, Westbrook has been bought out or traded. He could even be involved in a three-team deal that lands Harden on the team.

In Harden, the Los Angeles Lakers acquire the playmaking relief they were hoping Westbrook would be able to provide LeBron James. The biggest difference is, Harden can actually space the floor. He’ll compliment James and lessen his offensive burden.
That sounds like a recipe for an NBA championship.
