Kyle Kuzma
The Washington Wizards have put off a full-on rebuild for far too long, but that could all come to an end this offseason. After trading Spencer Dinwiddie and Davis Bertans in exchange for Kristaps Porzingis, the Washington Wizards started to move in the right direction, but there’s still a lot of work to be done.
One of the pieces that they still need to trade eventually is Kyle Kuzma. He has outgrown the role of young protégé to LeBron James and has become a 26-year-old, two-way veteran forward. He was a big reason for Washington’s early-season defensive renaissance and shocking success in the first quarter of the 2021-22 NBA season.
While Kuz never became the player that Los Angeles Lakers fans tried to make him out to be in their fake trade proposals when he was still donning the purple and gold, he’s become a solid complementary piece in multiple ways.
He can create his own shot when needed, is a decent enough shooter to space the floor, can play various roles on defense and can go off for the occasional 20+ point scoring outburst.

The Wizards should be trying to accumulate as much draft capital as they can, and they could certainly do a lot worse than the 14th-overall pick in exchange for Kyle Kuzma. Sticking Kuz into Lauri Markkanen’s slot as the starting small forward should do wonders for the Cavs on both ends of the court.
