Making the Case: Memphis Grizzlies
Last season, the Memphis Grizzlies managed to sneak into the playoffs and steal a game from the Utah Jazz. They have taken giant steps and look like a win-now team in the Western Conference.
After being taken down by the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Semifinals, the Grizzlies know that they will have to improve further to reach championships level. With Ja Morant as the initiator of the offense, the Grizzlies are set for years to come but could use a dynamic rim roller for him.
Gobert is not known for his offensive ability, but he has the prowess to be a pick-and-roll big on the perimeter with Morant. He can cut to the rim and finish within three feet, which he did a lot this season. He averaged 15.3 points per game but let the league shooting 71.3% from the field.
Defensively, we know Gobert’s impact, and he’d bring a new dynamic to Memphis. He is arguably the best rim protector in the league and has been for years now.
