Sacramento Kings
It’s been rumored that the Sacramento Kings are looking to trade the fourth-overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft for a veteran piece to aid in their playoff push for next season. That notion received instant backlash from Kings fans and NBA watchers around the league.
Giving up the chance to acquire one of the top prospects in this draft for an established veteran would be a foolish, short-sighted move that falls right in line with Sacramento’s past rash thinking.
Trading the fourth pick makes a lot more sense, though, if the Sacramento Kings can get someone who can both help their campaign next season and has the room to grow into something more — someone like OG Anunoby.
Anunoby would be the perfect swingman to hold together a lineup that features De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis. The Kings need all of the defensive acumens they can find, and Anunoby has plenty of it to give. His 3-point marksmanship would also space the floor for Fox’s speedy drives and Sabonis’s post-mastery.

If things don’t work out, Anunoby is young enough to be a part of Sacramento’s next era as well. There’s actually a decent chance that the Sacramento Kings fumble the selection if they hold onto the fourth pick, so they might be best off trading it to the Raptors for Anunoby.
