John Collins
There are many instances where a team looks to add more star power to a team. More often than not, they will look to add a superstar guard next to another. In this case, why not bring in a young, versatile forward into the mix?
John Collins signed a new contract with the Atlanta Hawks last year but this does not mean that he is a long-term piece. Even after signing this deal, Collins has been thrown into rumors, which means his status in Atlanta is up in the air. Whatever the reason, it is not because of a lack of production.
This season, Collins averaged 16.2 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. This was considered a down year after what he has been able to do over the last three years with the Hawks. At 24 years old, Collins is entering his prime and is already a proven star in the league.
The fit next to Ja Morant makes sense for many reasons. Collins is a versatile forward who can play many positions and venture out near the three-point line. He is a strong pick-and-roll man because of his ability to finish at the rim. Collins also runs the floor well and is used to a fast-paced offense. The duo of Collins and Jackson Jr. would make for an elite frontcourt as well.
