Sacramento Kings Receive: F Gordon Hayward
Charlotte Hornets Receive: C Richaun Holmes, G/F Justin Holiday
This deal should satisfy the needs of both teams involved.
It’s worth noting that Richaun Holmes is currently dealing with some personal issues. We won’t elaborate. Suffice it to say, this trade assumes that he’ll be as available as any NBA player for the 2022-23 season.
With that caveat aside, this deal makes a lot of sense. The Hornets get their big, and the Kings get another impact, fringe star veteran for a much-needed playoff run.
In fact, both of these teams will be hoping to find themselves in the postseason following this deal. The Hornets will miss Hayward’s shot creation, but filling a need should compensate for it.
