Miami Heat Receive: G Donovan Mitchell

Like the Utah Jazz, the Miami Heat have lightened their draft capital in pursuit of win-now targets. Unlike the Jazz, that plan has landed them close to the NBA championship.

The Miami Heat were in the Finals just two seasons ago. As it stands, they’re a series away from getting back there. If they fail to beat the Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals, they might want to consider making a big splash this summer.

Acquiring Mitchell would surely count. He would probably be their first offensive option from day one, allowing Jimmy Butler to conserve some energy as he advances into his 30s.

The main draw for the Jazz here is Tyler Herro. At 22, he’s a few years younger than Mitchell. He also plays the same position: rather than rebuilding, they could just try to plug Herro into Mitchell’s role and see what happens.
