For the uninitiated: it’s a lot. It beats the record amount the Houston Rockets received for James Harden by a pick. That’s because Towns is still distinctly in his prime.
If the idea of rebuilding around Edwards appeals to the Wolves, this is the deal for them. Frankly, this probably qualifies as one of those ideas that’s unrealistic, but would actually make a lot of sense.
After all, the Wolves may like the looks of what they have now, but they’d probably be happier with Edwards and Victor Wembenyama.

This won’t happen. It almost can’t. Towns is beloved in Minnesota, and the future already looks bright there. The team’s long-suffering fanbase won’t take kindly to having its core broken up just as it’s finding some success.
