Golden State Warriors Receive: C/F Christian Wood, G/F Eric Gordon
Houston Rockets Receive: F Andrew Wiggins, 2022 First-Round Pick (No. 28 overall), 2026 First-Round Pick
This trade package is one that the Golden State Warriors could push for if they aren’t confident that they will be able to retain some key members of their rotation this offseason. So, they address the need, picking up two players they can insert right into their rotation.
Christian Wood would be a sizable upgrade at the center spot whether or not Kevon Looney comes back. Eric Gordon would provide the team with some insurance in the backcourt and on the wing.
Gordon was excellent during the 2021-22 season for the Rockets, averaging 13.4 points per game. He was lights out as a shooter, making 47.5 percent overall and 41.2 percent from the 3-point line. Gordon offers a little bit of playmaking as well and a ton of playoff experience, so he will be unphased by a deep run in the postseason.
Andrew Wiggins is someone that the Warriors could look to move this offseason because of their rising tax bill. It is hard to imagine Golden State signing him to a long-term deal as he is entering free agency in 2023. So, they use his contract to bring in Wood and Gordon.

Only 27-years old, Wiggins is someone that the Rockets could decide they want to keep long-term if he shows that he is a good fit. If not, Houston at least gets out of some long-term money as Gordon is signed through 2024.
Houston gets two first-round picks in this scenario as well since Golden State is not surrendering any of their young players in the deal. If The Rockets prefer a player to a pick that far down the road, they could ask for one of James Wiseman, Moses Moody or Jonathan Kuminga.
