Sacramento Kings
Sticking with the theme of expectations, the Sacramento Kings roughly met theirs in 2021-22.
That’s not to say they had some kind of exceptional season. When was the last time anybody had that expectation for the Kings?
Well, right now, in fact. The Kings took a big swing by trading for Domantas Sabonis at last year’s trade deadline. They’re desperate to break an NBA record 16-year playoff drought. They might as well take another big swing this summer.
At face value, Anthony Davis and Sabonis may not be a great pairing. In fact, the Pacers moved Sabonis due to his inability to fit with Myles Turner. That would be a credible concern if the Kings were looking to make a run at the NBA championship.
