On the other hand, the Washington Wizards roughly lived up to their 2021-22 expectations. They simply weren’t high to begin with.
It’s been that way for a while. Every year, the Wizards are expected to finish somewhere between the 7th and 10th seed. Without fail, they do. They’re stuck on the mediocrity treadmill, and trading Bradley Beal may be the only way off of it.
Wizards fans may not like to hear that. At the same time, some of them are probably willing to recognize reality. This team is due for a rebuild.
