Los Angeles Lakers Receive: G Zach LaVine
Chicago Bulls Receive: F/C Anthony Davis, 2027 First-Round Pick
Obviously, this deal comes by way of a sign-and-trade with Zach LaVine. Realistically, he’d have to specifically want to join the Los Angeles Lakers for this to work.
At the same time, would anybody be shocked if he did?
The Lakers have been the hottest brand in the NBA for decades. The idea of strapping on their uniform to play alongside LeBron James would have to hold some appeal for LaVine. At 27, he could be the Robin to Bron’s Batman until he’s ready to inherit Gotham.
Like the last trade, this deal provides the Lakers with some flexibility regarding Westbrook. Albeit, less. They’re only acquiring one piece that, on paper, should be able to co-exist with the former MVP. They’d still have to acquire a stretch big elsewhere.

That’s a secondary concern. If the Lakers acquire Zach LaVine, they can think about Westbrook afterward. They’ll need to work to replace any portion of Davis’ inside presence. Still, LaVine might be a talented enough scorer to make it worth their while.
