The Golden State Warrior have their work cut out for them if they want to advance to the NBA Finals. They will have to overcome the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Finals, who have one of the best players in the league in Luka Doncic on their side.
Doncic has been dominant this postseason, helping the Mavericks get past the Utah Jazz in the first round and the No. 1 seed Phoenix Suns in the second round. In 11 games this postseason, Doncic is averaging 30.5 points, 9.8 rebounds, 6.4 assists, and 1.8 steals in 36 minutes per game.
Heading into the matchup, Doncic drew a lot of comparisons to James Harden during his days on the Houston Rockets. Many expected the Warriors to use a similar game plan slowing him down as they did in the matchups against Harden and the Rockets.
The comparison made some sense. The Rockets used to put the ball in James Harden’s hands and surrounded him with shooters. He would bleed the clock, slowly finding his spot to attack the Warriors’ offense. Doncic operates similarly with surgical precision.

But, Doncic has also drawn comparisons to another Warriors foe in LeBron James. Draymond Green recently compared Doncic to King James, as he sees a lot of similarities between the two superstars.
The Warriors had some memorable series against James for years during their dynasty, so if there is anyone that knows what it is like going up against him, it is Draymond Green, To draw comparisons to him is high praise for Doncic, who has the skill set to make him one of the best to ever play in the NBA.
Luka Doncic isn’t nearly as athletic as LeBron James is, as James would overpower you with his rare blend of size and athleticism. But, James’ playmaking is arguably the most impressive part of his skill set, which is also an elite skill for Doncic despite his assist numbers being down thus far in the postseason.
