Toronto Raptors Receive: C Christian Wood, G Eric Gordon, 2023 First-Round Pick (MIL), 2024 First-Round Pick (BKN)
Houston Rockets Receive: F Pascal Siakam
Any conversation about the Toronto Raptors dealing Pascal Siakam starts with the same question: why would the Raptors trade Siakam?
That same conversation ends with a simple answer. They have Scottie Barnes. The two possess a similar skill set as playmaking wing/forwards. It is a quality skill set to double down on, but if the Raptors want better floor balance to go with future assets, this is the deal for them.
After all, they don’t currently roster a starting caliber center. Christian Wood fixes that. He’s one of the best floor-spacing big men in the business. With their depth of defensive wings, the Raptor could even compensate for defensive limitations.
At the same time, if the Raptors rejected this deal, those limitations would likely be the reason. With so many quality defensive players, their goal may be to build an elite defense, not one that can cover for one liability.

If that’s how they feel, maybe a third team could facilitate a deal that lands Siakam in Space City.
