Toronto Raptors

Another dark horse team to keep an eye on in the Deandre Ayton sweepstakes should be the Toronto Raptors.

It is no secret that they are in the market for a center this offseason as they tried to add one ahead of the 2022 NBA trade deadline but could not complete a deal.

The Raptors do not have the cap space to sign Ayton outright, but have some pieces to build an intriguing trade package around should a sign-and-trade be worked out. Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby are two players that could be of interest to the Suns.

The Toronto Raptors played as hard as they could against the Philadelphia 76ers in their first-round playoff series, but it is clear they need some size in the middle to truly compete.

The Raptors tried speeding them up with some hectic defensive looks, but they had no answer for the size of Joel Embiid. Ayton would help in that regard, standing nearly 7-feet tall and weighing 250 pounds.

Ahead of the timeline, many thought that they would be on, the Toronto Raptors should look to make a splash this offseason at the center spot to continue pushing toward becoming Eastern Conference contenders once again.
