Zach LaVine
The glaring issue with the Phoenix Suns in Game 7 was their offense. With active defense from Dallas, the Suns’ offense became predictable, uninspired, and ineffective. 27 points at half-time is a great figure for one player – Luka hit that in Game 1 Sunday night. 27 points at half-time is AWFUL for an entire team, but it’s all the Suns could muster through 24 minutes.
The Suns clearly lacked a go-to scorer in this game. Chris Paul can occasionally be that, but at 37 he simply didn’t have it every game. Devin Booker can score a lot – but he does his best work off the ball. He can’t generate on-ball advantages the way some of the game’s elite scorers do.
A player like Zach LaVine would be a big addition to Phoenix. LaVine is a free agent, so a sign-and-trade would be required to bring him in. LaVine could easily be a 25 points per game scorer for Phoenix with his three-level scoring ability. The Suns’ supporting cast is extremely well-equipped passers, they just need a central hub to organize around. LaVine could be that for Phoenix.
A glaring issue for Phoenix this postseason was their inability to find a reliable backup ballhandler. Staggering CP3 with a player like LaVine who can handle that role would be a viable solution, especially come playoff time.

LaVine will earn a large deal, so a lot of salary will have to be sent out in a deal. This could, though, be an opportunity to move on from Ayton and gain something in the process.
