Chicago Bulls Receive: F Tobias Harris, G Tyrese Maxey
Philadelphia 76ers Receive: G Zach LaVine
So, about that rebuild…
Tyrese Maxey is emerging as a bonafide building block in this league. He garnered serious Most Improved Player consideration in 2021-22. He’s averaging 20.8 points per game on a 59.4% True Shooting Percentage (TS%) in these playoffs for the Philadelphia 76ers. At 21, that’s remarkable.
Maxey has so much promise that he could make the 76ers regret this deal. Don’t expect general manager Daryl Morey to hesitate to move him. He’s a known star-chaser.
While Maxey was playing like a star for 76ers in the playoffs, he doesn’t have nearly the same track record of production that LaVine does.
LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Should Bulls, Suitors Worry About This Zach LaVine News?
No draft picks exchange hands here. Maxey is too valuable a chip to need a sweetener. The Bulls will likely try to plug him right into LaVine’s role, see how it’s going, and entertain more future-focused moves at the trade deadline depending on the results.
If the Bulls decide to move their veterans, they may have already acquired their franchise player with this 76ers deal.
