There’s a similarity between Brandon Ingram and Pascal Siakam. Both are plus-sized playmaking wings. That’s part of Philly’s calculus here: the emergency of Tyrese Maxey may render Harden expendable.
They’ve got two star-level guards now. Why not flip one for a wing? Between Maxey, Siakam, and Embiid, Philly would roster one of the most well-rounded trios in the NBA.
Of course, it takes two to tango, and it would be off-brand for the Raptors to trade for Harden. They’re an organization that values continuity, and with Siakam taking another leap forward last year, they’re likely to continue that trend.
On the other hand, this club did make a bold move for Kawhi Leonard just a few short years ago. If they felt they were one dynamic, playmaking guard away from real title contention, they could be interested. For all of his flaws, Harden would inevitably improve this team’s offensive attack.
