Julius Randle
The 2021-22 season was not kind to the league’s biggest markets. The New York Knicks were practically as disappointing as the Lakers.
Much of that was due to Julius Randle’s underwhelming season. After winning the Most Improved Player award in 2020-21, Randle regressed mightily. Of course, that begs the question:
Why would the Lakers be interested in him?
Well, beggars can’t be choosers, and the Lakers should be begging for help. Meanwhile, there’s no reason to assume Randle’s 2021-22 is going to be a benchmark for the rest of his career.
Notably, his three-point percentage between the last two seasons dipped from 41.1% to 30.8%.
