Jonathan Isaac
You may not have expected to see Jonathan Isaac’s name here. Many New York Knicks fans, understandably, have their sights set higher.
Who knows? The Knicks may acquire Donovan Mitchell or even Zion Williamson this summer. We wouldn’t rule it out. However, if they don’t want to give up the treasure trove of draft picks that will be required to land either, Isaac could be an intriguing fit.
Granted, injuries have set his career dramatically back. That’s exactly why he’s a buy-low option. The Knicks could possibly acquire him for as low a price as Evan Fournier and a first-round pick. If he can get his body back on track, the deal could pay dividends.
After all, when healthy, Jonathan Isaac has established himself as a one-man defensive system. He can guard 1-5, an exceedingly rare quality. His unique combination of length, lateral mobility, and motor will make him a perennial Defensive Player of the Year candidate for a decade if he can just stay healthy.
