Detroit Pistons Receive: G Derrick White, G Payton Prichard, F Aaron Nesmith, 2023 First-Round Pick (BOS)
Boston Celtics Receive: F Jerami Grant
Here, the Detroit Pistons operate like a more conventional rebuilding team. They’re largely interested in landing a first-round pick in what’s widely regarded as a historic draft class.
That’s not to say that Prichard and Nesmith are of no value to them. They are. Prichard is a smart, game-managing point guard. He hustles on defense and can catch fire from downtown in a hurry. He could be a great backup for Cade Cunningham for years to come.
As for Nesmith, he’s proven less, but he does hold potential as an athletic 3-and-D wing. If he reaches it, he could be exactly the type of role player the Pistons need down the line.
The Pistons don’t get Grant Williams in this exchange. He’s proven too much over these playoffs. Including him alongside Prichard, Nesmith and a first-round pick should prove too prohibitive a cost for the Celtics.

Frankly, the Pistons should entertain either of the offers listed here. They may hurt now, but either could be a tremendous benefit for them in the future.
