Golden State Warriors Receive: G/F Ben Simmons, 2027 First-Round Pick (PHI)
Brooklyn Nets Receive: G/F Andrew Wiggins

Ben Simmons and Andrew Wiggins are both former number one picks who haven’t quite lived up to the lofty expectations that come along with that honor. Could the Nets and Warriors swap them this season?

It’s hard to believe we’ve reached a point where the Warriors would get the pick in this trade. They would. While Wiggins has morphed into a valuable 3-and-D wing who offers secondary shot creation, Simmons has mostly been on the sidelines for the better part of two seasons.

Still, if any coaching staff has the ingenuity to get around Simmons’ on-court limitations, it’s the Warriors. They may get crazy and put him at center. Who knows. They reinvented Wiggins: they could work the same magic on Simmons.

Meanwhile, Wiggins would be a perfect third banana alongside Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. He doesn’t need the ball to be effective, but he’s still effective with it. If the Warriors felt they could rehab Simmons, the Nets would be wise to give them the opportunity.
