Making the Case: Utah Jazz
When a franchise continues to underachieve, there are always talks of how long it will be until it gets blown up. That time might be coming for the Utah Jazz.
In today’s NBA, high usage creators are turning into the most critical role on the floor. John Collins is the type of forward who knows how to play with a star. Donovan Mitchell is one of the league’s most dynamic scorers and could use the pick-and-pop element of Collins’ skill-set.
By adding talent at two spots in the frontcourt, the Hawks could look to reconfigure the roster more around Mitchell in separate trades. Mike Conley, Bojan Bogdanovic, and Royce O’Neale appear to have a case as trade candidates in the offseason.
This type of player can run the open floor or act as a pick-and-roll partner that Utah seeks for Mitchell. As for Clint Capela, he is a strong rebounder and rim protector on that end of the floor.
