Making the Case: Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics are the ultimate win-now team and have been for years. Despite some early exits in the postseason, Boston is looking like the real deal and could hit another home run this offseason.
Damian Lillard is as good as they come as a perimeter engine. He has improved as a three-point shooter and has unlimited range once he crosses half-court. Teams have to give him similar treatment as Stephen Curry and James Harden in terms of guarding him early after crossing half-court.
Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown make up one of the better offensive duos in the league. Adding Lillard to the mix would build the best big three in the league. Personnel of this talent-level would be an offense that is impossible to guard and make teams have to work.
Tatum is a strong isolation player, while Brown shows excellent athleticism in the half-court. Lillard is a do-it-all point guard that can shoot from all three levels. This is a scary thought for opponents in the Eastern Conference.
