Derrick Rose and Evan Fournier’s ears have to be burning somewhere by now.

Across the internet, these two are included in trade proposals everywhere. They both routinely trend on trade machines. They’re two solid veterans being written out of a situation they both seem otherwise content in.

That’s the nature of the business. They both have perfect contracts for salary matching. If the Knicks hope to land a big fish this summer, then they’ll likely be trading them both.

This trade may work for the Jazz whether or not they’re rebuilding. If they are, they’re taking on those veteran contracts to acquire Reddish and the picks. If they’re not, they’re adding two quality veterans to their rotation and acquiring assets to potentially broker a bigger deal elsewhere.
