Donovan Mitchell
Rumors of Donovan Mitchell’s discontent have grown so loud that they’ve probably reached the Mormons in Salt Lake City by now.
The Jazz are in disarray. They suffered a tremendously disappointing loss at the hands of the Dallas Mavericks in the first round of this year’s playoffs. Meanwhile, Mitchell is said to pine for a bigger market. There is every indication that he’ll be leaving the Jazz at some time.
Granted, San Antonio isn’t exactly a bustling metropolis. Still, this organization would have a lot to offer Mitchell. Specifically, a track record of winning NBA championships. One chip is worth more to a player’s brand than the city they play in.
Of course, the Spurs aren’t a Mitchell away from championship contention. Nonetheless, he’d move the needle in the right direction. He pairs nicely with emerging star Dejounte Murray. He can ease Murray’s playmaking load, while Murray makes up for his defensive shortcomings.

The Spurs have the pieces to broker a blockbuster as well. Young players like Keldon Johnson, Devin Vassell, and Joshua Primo should all entice a rebuilding Jazz team.
They have a solid base of draft capital as well. If they’re interested in Donovan Mitchell, and he’s due for a change of scenery, they’ve got the pieces to get a deal done.
