Making the Case: Sacramento Kings
Many did not like the Domantas Sabonis trade because the Sacramento Kings moved Tyrese Haliburton. All this did was confirm the notion of the franchise to be committed to De’Aaron Fox at the top.
Given his ability and production, this is not a wrong move, but many thought Haliburton on a rookie contract was more valuable. Either way, Fox and Sabonis are a star-studded duo that Sacramento should build around.
The addition of Simmons is one that any team would have to have a plan for, given the unique nature of his skill-set. He’s just not a player that can just plug into an offensive scheme because of his inability to score the basketball.
The good news in Sacramento is that Simmons would be able to play off the ball. Fox handles the point guard duties, and Simmons would be able to take on more of a forward roll.

Defensively, Simmons continues to be one of the better perimeter defenders but can also play any of the five positions. He brings tremendous versatility on the defensive end, which would pair well with Sabonis. Offensively, Simmons would be able to get to the basket and use his strong passing abilities in the lane.
First and foremost, the trade will not benefit anyone if Simmons cannot get back on the floor. The Kings would have to believe that Simmons can consistently come back and play 65+ games.
