Making the Case: Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics have the difficult task of facing the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks in the second round of the postseason.
Brad Stevens might be looking to make a splash this offseason since he is now comfortably in his role as an executive. If Simmons is that splash, the Celtics would have to have a plan of action.
The good news here is that Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown make up a potent duo. This means Simmons would not have to take on a considerable role offensively. He can pair with Smart on the defensive end and give teams fits. When on the floor, Simmons is one of the best perimeter defenders in the league.
Financially, the Celtics would take on his contract but would match it with Horford coming off the books next season.

Simmons would be able to play the power forward position but use his versatility on both ends. At 6-foot-10, Simmons has the size to play as a forward and the ability to man all five positions.
The Boston Celtics would have to get Simmons on the floor first but have many options once he returns.
