Making the Case: Los Angeles Lakers
It has been said before and will be sent until the problem is fixed. When Russell Westbrook was acquired, the Los Angeles Lakers sacrificed depth, shooting, and defensive ability.
While they may not be the biggest names in the league, Kyle Kuzma and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope brought a lot to the Lakers lineup. It’s important they find impact a way to fill some of that void.
Talents like OG Anunoby and Gary Trent Jr. would immediately fill holes in the Lakers’ starting lineup while also enabling LeBron James to play the five spot regularly.
With more shooting and a versatile wing defender in the frontcourt, the Lakers would have the option of giving Russell Westbrook another chance with a better-fitting set of personnel. He’d still need to come back next season being a better shooter and more locked-in defender.

The Lakers would have more draft assets to work with if they were to decide to move on from Westbrook in a separate trade scenario.
