It would be impossible to find a Los Angeles Lakers fan with a positive word to say about their 2021-22 NBA season. It was, by all accounts, a massive failure.

Despite rostering two recent MVPs and Anthony Davis, the team failed to even advance as far as the play-in tournament. Having fallen so short of expectations, this organization shouldn’t rule anything out this offseason.

Landing Bradley Beal would certainly be a coup. It won’t be easy, but it should be viewed as impossible either.

NBA trade rumors have surrounded Beal for years with his Washington Wizards mired in mediocrity. With so much smoke surrounding his future with the organization, it’s hard not to assume there’s some accompanying fire.

Perhaps this offseason finds the Beal/Wizards saga finally drawing to a conclusion. It remains unclear whether either the team or Beal himself is interested in a divorce.
