Jerami Grant
Of all the potential trade targets for the Portland Trail Blazers, Jerami Grant may be the most realistic. In fact, we’d almost be surprised not to see him in a Blazers uniform next season.
The Pistons, if you hadn’t heard, are bad. At 23-59, they had the third-worst record in the entire National Basketball Association last season. Still, their future is bright. Cade Cunningham enjoyed a quality rookie season, and they’ve got several players on his timeline that should compliment him for years to come.
Jerami Grant is not one of them. At 28, he’ll be past his prime by the time Cunningham and co. reach theirs. That makes him a prime trade candidate.
Meanwhile, he suits the Blazers’ needs perfectly. He’s spent the last two seasons developing his offensive game as the primary scorer in Detroit. He’s not quite qualified for that role, but he should be an effective second option. He also offers the Blazers the type of defensively versatile wing they’ve seldom rostered over Dame’s time with the team.
