It started early on with the Covid mandates in New York, forcing Kyrie Irving to sit out. The Nets brought him back for road games before the mandate was lifted in time for the playoffs. This did not change their fate, as Brooklyn was swept out of the first round by the Boston Celtics.
Brooklyn has made some huge moves to bring in big names to build depth and compete for a championship. Now, a team led by Irving and Kevin Durant has to figure out what to do next. For whatever reason, this team did not look well-rounded throughout the season and will have to continue to improve.
As for the Houston Rockets, they are the ultimate rebuilding team around the league. They have finished with one of the worst records over the last two years and will likely land another top draft pick. Houston sent away veterans to retool the roster, but there have been some that have survived.
