Brooklyn Nets Receive: F Marcus Morris, G Norman Powell, G Brandon Boston Jr., 2028 First-Round Pick (LAC)
LA Clippers Receive: G Kyrie Irving
Talking yourself into this one will be a challenge if you’re a Brooklyn Nets fan. That’s an inevitable consequence of trading a star for a package built around non-stars.
Still, Kyrie, for all the reasons outlined above, is a unique star. His trade value has inevitably taken a hit after 2021-22. Hopefully, global pandemics aren’t a factor in the NBA again in our lifetimes. The image of Kyrie being the most significant player to refuse the vaccine, fair or otherwise, is likely to stick in the memories of GMs.
This trade gives the Nets depth. It gives them a quality stretch big to pair with Simmons (should he resume action). It also gives them some assets to peddle to a rebuilder in Boston Jr. and a 2028 First-Round pick.
Powell is the best veteran the Nets are receiving. He may not be nearly the shot creator Irving is, but he’s still a great scorer in this league. More importantly, he’s consistently available to play.

If that’s not enough to convince Brooklyn, we’ve got another deal. With that said, it may not suit the LA Clippers.
