Making the Case: Utah Jazz
There just comes a time when a franchise has to decide to go in a different direction. Many would agree, especially Jazz fans, that the time has come in Utah.
This is assuming that the Jazz come up short once again this season. It would take nothing short of a championship for the front office to consider bringing this regime back next season. This is also because of the rocky relationship between Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell.
When looking at the return, the Jazz would not be going into rebuilding mode. First, Mitchell keeps them competitive immediately. Conley Jr. is still in town while Bledsoe would add some depth on the perimeter. Winslow is another veteran who could act as a weapon off the bench.
Johnson played for two teams during his first season in the league, struggling to catch on with either one. Mitchell is not the worst point guard to sit behind as a young player. He played 25.5 minutes per night in 22 games for the Blazers, scoring 9.8 points per game.

While Johnson remains an intriguing piece, the Jazz should be focused on finding that depth needed to last 82 games and into the playoffs. This would also shed a large contract and allow the front office to look for another impact performer to pair with Mitchell.
The Jazz have been patient during these recent years but continue to underachieve. The time could be coming to blow it up and see what they can get for a star.
