Dallas Mavericks Receive: F Tobias Harris, 2023 Second-Round Pick (via ATL, CHO, or BRK)
Philadelphia 76ers Receive: G Tim Hardaway Jr., F Davis Bertans, 2022 First-Round Pick
Given how large of a contract Tobias Harris is signed to, it would be challenging for a potential suitor to be overly interested in trading for him in a deal the Philadelphia 76ers. It would need to involve moving less than ideal salaries to help facilitate a deal.
The Dallas Mavericks have a few unfavorable contracts on their books — starting with Tim Hardaway Jr. and Davis Bertans. Both players can bring a shooting punch, but there is too much overlap on the depth chart for them to make enough of an impact.
Hardaway Jr. is an intriguing piece going to Philadelphia here. He is known to be a strong shooter, and this would allow the Sixers to add another, which is essential now that Seth Curry is in Brooklyn.
Shedding Harris’ contract would allow the Sixers to move differently. Hardaway Jr. seems like a strong fit given his catch-and-shoot ability goes beyond standstill looks; he can be deployed as a motion shooter in both on and off-ball screening actions.

The Mavericks could use a wing player to attack off the catch at a high level as Harris can. However, having extra layers of half-court offense never hurts. Harris can bring that between his ability to operate on both ends of a ball screen, post-up smaller players, and attack in isolation.
Let’s take a closer look and see how this trade would benefit both sides right away.
