Why The New York Knicks Should Pursue This Trade
The New York Knicks’ logic here doesn’t really need justification. They’re landing Zion Williamson.
True, there are risks involved in that decision. They’re parting with significant draft capital in addition to a quality young player in exchange for someone whose career has been riddled by injuries to date. There are very real concerns surrounding that course of action.
They still have to take it. Williamson has flashed MVP candidate potential when he has been able to get on the floor. If his injury luck improves, the Knicks are landing a franchise player for a decade or more to come with this deal.
After years of mediocrity, they can’t pass up that opportunity. If this trade works, it could make the Knicks more relevant than they’ve been since Patrick Ewing patrolled the paint in Madison Square Garden.
