Former NBA champion Festus Ezili was recently quoted with his take, saying “I know the Lakers won a bubble chip, but every time I see Brandon Ingram hoop, I can’t help but think of how much of a mistake it was to trade him.”
Brandon Ingram recently posted 37 points, 11 rebounds, and 9 assists in a Pelicans upset win over the top-seeded Suns. The outburst from Ingram directly preceded the comment from Ezili.

Meanwhile, Anthony Davis and the Los Angeles Lakers are recuperating after the conclusion of the regular season. Davis had a lackluster season for LA. The forward played just 40 games all season and scoring 23.2 and 9.9 rebounds per game.
Davis still finds himself playing second fiddle to teammate LeBron James. James, at age 37, led the Lakers in total points this season.
Ezili’s point may have some validity to it. Despite winning the 2020 championship, the Lakers have looked inadequate in consecutive seasons.
