New York Knicks
The New York Knicks should definitely be a team to aggressively pursue Damian Lillard. Will they? It is unlikely. If they were in, would they land him? Even more unlikely.
The Knicks have been unsuccessful in getting big names to come to town for years now. There is no allure to New York or Madison Square Garden anymore. Those days are over and players have been seeing the disastrous ownership that the Knicks have in place.
With that being said, it is obvious that the Knicks should be involved in one of the best point guards in the league.
This is a position that has haunted the Knicks for years now. It seems like they have not had a reliable option since the days of Walt ‘Clyde’ Frazier. Julius Randle is signed long-term while RJ Barrett is viewed as one of the cornerstone players.

Neither is capable of being a true No. 1 option for a contending team. Randle and Barrett are solid role players but the Knicks need star power and it is unknown where it is going to come from.
Damian Lillard would answer that question. He would add shooting to the offense and leadership in the locker room. Lillard has played in many big games and could lead a team looking to take the next step.
In return, the Knicks would be able to move the likes of Kemba Walker and Evan Fournier. They would have to include at least one second-year player and it would make sense to add Immanuel Quickley. Obi Toppin is a former top-10 pick who is beginning to hit his stride.

This is a move to bring attention back to the Knicks in a positive manner. They have been the worst franchise in basketball for a decade and that is not going to change until they get the necessary players in the building.
