Myles Turner
We thought we’d start with something obvious. Chances are, you’ve seen a trade linking Myles Turner to the Charlotte Hornets before.
That’s because the arrangement makes sense. The Hornets do not have a starting-caliber big man. Mason Plumlee and Montrezl Harrell platoon aren’t without talent, but it’s a pairing that falls short on several measures.
Specifically, neither rotation big is a high-end rim protector or floor-spacer. Myles Turner solves both of those issues at once for the Hornets.
His career 34.9% three-point accuracy may not be elite, but it’s a strong mark for a center, especially considering that the center in question has led the league in blocked shots twice. Turner is an elite rim protector who could transform this Hornets’ defense while also benefitting their offense.

As for the Pacers, a Hayward-for-Turner trade doesn’t work financially. It probably doesn’t work practically either. The Hornets would have to attach sweeteners in the form of draft capital or young players to make this a reality.
Meanwhile, the Pacers would have to attach more money to match Hayward’s significant contract.

Neither of those conditions feels too challenging to meet. If the Pacers are interested in bringing Hayward to his hometown club and the Charlotte Hornets covet Myles Turner, this is a very realistic scenario heading into the summer.
